SEVEN REASONS NOT TO MISS THE MYSTICS ON MONDAY

The Northern Mystics take on The Good Oil Tactix at 7pm on Monday at The Trusts Arena. Here’s seven reasons not to miss a minute of the action.

  1. Got to love an Auckland v Canterbury clash

Everyone loves a good battle between the traditional rivals – the red and black of Canterbury taking on the home side of the blue of Auckland’s Northern Mystics.

The Blues weren’t able to knock over the table-topping Crusaders in Super Rugby Aotearoa, but can the Mystics take one for the north over the team tipped as one of the ANZ Premiership favourites?

  1. Grace Nweke tops the shooting stats

Our talented 19-year-old goal shoot is out in front on the shooting table for the ANZ Premiership with 105 from 118 attempts in the opening two rounds. Grace was rock solid under the Mystics hoop in game two, and she’ll be looking to improve on her 89% conversion rate on Monday.

  1. Taking on one of the best defences

The Good Oil Tactix defence of captain Jane Watson and new recruit Karin Burger were touted as one of the best defensive pairings in this year’s competition.

And they’ll be determined to help their side collect their first win in 2021 after going down in the opening two rounds. But how will they match up against our star shooters Grace and Bailey?

  1. What about our stars of the show – Kate and Sulu?

Two games and two The Cosmetic Clinic Fans Player of the Match awards for our defensive pairing of skipper Sulu Fitzpatrick and star recruit Kate Burley. Sulu continued her outstanding form from the Constellation Cup series against the Australian Diamonds to disrupt the Magic’s rhythm in the opening round, while in game two Kate led the way in shutting down the Steel’s scoring options.

  1. Wipe away those first day back at school blues

So Monday might be a good day for parents with kids back at school, but the kids might need a bit of cheering up.

Wipe away those blues in the Bleed Blue Zone where you can get all dressed in blue to support your Mystics.

And better still. KIDS GO FREE on Monday with every paying adult. Please ensure you choose the adult + child ticket option when making your purchase.

  1. Our last game at home for nearly a month

Sadly after Monday’s match, the Mystics are on the road for the next three rounds of the ANZ Premiership. So let’s have a full house on Monday to send them on their travels.

You can watch their away matches live on SKY Sport or follow updates on the Mystics Facebook and Instagram pages

  1. Our starting seven of course!

And the best reason of all not to miss Monday’s action is our starting seven for the Mystics. From skipper Sulu to star shooter Grace and our action-packed midcourters – your team has star power right across the court.

Check out the Mystics Facebook and Instagram each match day to see who will take the court.
